I joined the OTW as a member and a volunteer in 2010. The volunteer part has since eaten my life, and while there have been times I've found it frustrating and stressful, it's also been a great opportunity to learn new skills and work with knowledgeable, thoughtful, and all-around really cool fans! I'm personally thankful and enthusiastic to be a part of this organization, so here goes my shout out.

Volunteers (seriously, check out the current openings and apply if you have matching skills!) and monetary donations are the lifeblood of any nonprofit. If you've ever had an Oh, I see! moment on Fanlore, spent one, two, or eleventy-billion hours on the Archive of Our Own, hoped someone would fight for fans in the courts, talked about Transformative Works & Cultures, worried about fanworks disappearing, or read an OTW Fannews post to keep up on fandom in the media...please think about joining up officially.
